I recently found in the book “The Silver Spoon” this recipe to make baked monkfish that is very delicious. It is very easy and I only needed few ingredients that I normally have in my kitchen. It was a nice surprise. I liked it so much that I immediately decided to share it on the blog. You will tell me if you like it or not.
How to prepare lemon monkfish
The preparation of this dish is very fast. In short, you must put all the ingredients in a baking dish and bake. You just have to remember to add some lemon juice on the fish halfway through baking. And once it is cook, it goes directly from the oven to the table. Easy, right?
To finish, just say that if you have the book, you will see that I have adapted the recipe a bit, I crushed the garlic with the olive oil to enhance the flavor.

Lemon Monkfish Recipe
Ingredientes
- 400 g of monkfish tail, skinless
- 2 lemons
- 1 clove of garlic
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Parsley (for garnish)
Elaboración
- Grease an baking dish with a dash of olive oil.
- Place the fish on the bottom and salt to taste on both sides.
- Peel the garlic clove and crush it in a mortar until you obtain a paste. Mix this paste with 3 or 4 tablespoons of olive oil.
- Brush the fish with this oil and garlic mixture. Let the fish marinate for about 10 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Wash a lemon and cut it into slices. Use this slices to cover the fish.
- Preheat oven to 180ºC, heat top and bottom.
- Bake for 30 minutes at mid-height.
- Squeeze half a lemon and mix the juice with one tablespoon of olive oil.
- Halfway through, pour on the fish the mixture of oil and juice.
- Finish baking. Serve with its sauce and sprinkle with some chopped parsley.
Sugerencias, trucos y consejos
- You can serve it with white rice [1], vegetables or steamed potatoes as side dish.
- You can also prepare a layer of sliced potatoes and onion rings that you will bake for 15 minutes before. Then you will place the monkfish on them and bake.
- Ask your fishmonger to clean your monkfish tail, removing any skin.
