It is have been a long time since I have been regularly preparing my food at home to bring it to work. If I am not wrong, it should be nearly fifteen years, including also my college years and discounting the first two years in France, when I went to a very nice and cheap restaurant for lunch. When I cook for lunch, I usually cook something as side dish with vegetables. That something can be white rice, tabouleh, wheat, smashed potatoes, or even more vegetables.
However, among all the possibilities, I chooose white rice very often. I have my basic recipe for white rice and I cook it almost every week. I think that this recipe has enough flavor to eat the rice alone. I also vary a litthe the recipe form time to time, such as adding some saffron or thyme, or cooking it in vegetable or chicken stock.
El arroz blanco siempre es ideal para acompañar casi todos los platos. A mí en particular me gusta sólo sin nada 🙂

Pues a mi, sólo, sin nada, no te creas que me hace mucha gracia… Te refieres a cocerlo sólo con agua y sal? Yo así no puedo… Necesito echarle un algo para que le de un poco de sabor y, sobre todo, el chorrito de aceite al final para mi es indispensable. Bueno, un poco de mantequilla también vale 😉
