Hints, Tips, and Tricks
I soak the ladyfingers in the coffee very quickly, otherwise they will break.
Amaretto is an Italian liqueur with a hint of bitter almonds. It can be replaced by any other alcohol of your choice, or even nothing.
It is always easier to make individual portions of tiramisu.
Mascarpone should be at room temperature to make it easier to mix with the yolks.
Cocoa powder just before serving so it does not dry up.
To sprinkle cocoa, you can help a small strainer.
You can also add some sweet whipped cream to the tiramisu. I prefer not to use it as mascarpone contains a lot of fat.
If you do not have mascarpone, you can replace it by cream cheese. It is also good.
If you want a decoration at the end just keep the mascarpone mousse for the final layer in the piping bag in the refrigerator for 4 hours. You can decorate just before serving.
For chocolate lovers, you can sprinkle with cocoa powder before placing the second layer of ladyfingers.
