Ingredientes
- 4 onions
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar
- salt
Elaboración
- Peel and wash the onions. First cut them in half, then into strips at least half a centimeter thick. Discard the stems.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and the butter on low heat.
- Add the onions and stir to mix with the oil and butter.
- Let them reduce on low heat for at least an hour or up to the point of caramelization you want. Stir every 5 minutes to avoid burning. Taste always before going to next step.
- Add the balsamic vinegar and salt. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
- It is done. Enjoy!

- You can add a tablespoon of white sugar or brown sugar when they are caramelized to bring out the taste of caramel.
- You can substitute balsamic vinegar by white wine vinegar or some water.
