Tartar Sauce Recipe

Sometimes , when I cook , I realize I do not have one of the ingredients. Nevertheless, that does not stop me and I continue with the recipe. Here are some examples. Nothing changes if I cook lentils with or without carrots. A carrot salad is still good without garlic. Seafood spaghetti are still among my favorite pasta dishes even withou mussels. However, there are certain ingredients that give a special flavor to many preparations. Certain ingredients that make me stop cooking the recipe if I realize I do not have them. That happens to me, for example, with the red bell pepper in an Olivider salad or the tarragon in tartar sauce. And you? Do you feel the same?
The tartar sauce is a mayonnaise enriched with onions, capers, gherkins, parsley, tarragon and sometimes egg. Everythin finely chopped. For me, one of the secrets to make a perfect tartar sauce is to prepared it several hours in advance or the day before. It is not strictly necessary.The tartare sauce could be used without letting it to set, but after a few hours is much tastier.

Tartar Sauce Recipe
Ingredientes
- 200 g of mayonnaise (recipe here)
- 25 g of pickled gherkins, finely chopped
- 25 g capers, finely chopped
- 25 g onion, finely chopped
- 10 g shallot, finely chopped
- 1 boiled egg, finely chopped
- 10 g of parsley, finely chopped
- 5 g of tarragon, finely chopped
- salt
Elaboración
- Salt onion and shallot and let them lose the water on absorbent paper for 15 min .
- Mix all ingredients in an hermetic pot.
- Close and let set in refrigerator at least a couple of hours to let the flavors blend well .
- Done.

- If you want to lighten the consistency of the sauce, you can use a little lemon juice or milk.
- You can use bottled mayonnaise or use this recipe.
